Arunachal Pradesh Scholarships for Academic Excellence 2025

This scholarship is offered by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for Indian citizens belonging to APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes). It supports undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and post-doctoral studies at global universities with a focus on STEM fields.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Must belong to a tribe recognized as a Scheduled Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Must have secured admission or a letter of acceptance from a university ranked within the Top 150 in the QS World University Rankings overall or in the specific subject.
• Must be enrolling in full-time UG, PG, PhD, or Post-Doctoral courses.
• Preference is given to students in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Management).
• Applicants must not have secured admission prior to the notification of the guidelines.

Scholarship Value

• The scholarship covers 75% of the total annual cost incurred by the student.
• Covered expenses include tuition fees, on-campus residence fees, personal health insurance, visa charges, and one-time round-trip airfare.
• Additional options include a subsistence allowance of ₹12 lakhs per year or a soft loan covering the remaining 25% of the cost, guaranteed by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Students may supplement the award with Research or Teaching Assistantships as per university rules.

Application Process

1. Secure admission or a letter of acceptance from the university.
2. Submit the application along with supporting documents to the Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Arunachal Pradesh, or to a Nodal officer appointed by the Department.
3. Required documents include: domicile certificate, acceptance letter, fee details, passport, visa, Aadhaar card, self-declaration, and academic mark sheets.
4. The Department processes applications within 7 working days.
5. Scholarship payments are sent directly to the university or the student’s bank account.
