Media Fellowships at Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada 2025

This fellowship provides up to CAD 10,000 for Canadian journalists to conduct research and produce stories about Asia. It is designed to deepen understanding of the region and strengthen coverage of the Canada‑Asia relationship.

Eligibility

• Must be a Canadian passport holder.
• Must work as a reporter, feature writer, columnist, or freelancer for a Canadian media outlet.
• Requires at least two years of relevant experience and a record of publication.
• Previous APF Canada Media Fellowship recipients cannot reapply for three years after their award.

Application Process

Submit your application by email or post with the following items:

1. Current CV.
2. A proposal of 500‑750 words.
3. Two samples of published work.
4. A letter from an editor confirming willingness to publish the resulting stories, subject to editorial approval.

Value

Successful fellows receive a budget of up to CAD 10,000 covering travel, accommodation, and other in‑country expenses.
