Auckland University of Technology Fulbright Scholarships 2026

These scholarships enable U.S. citizens to undertake postgraduate study at AUT, covering research Master’s and doctoral programmes across all disciplines.

Application Process

Interested applicants can submit their applications through the official AUT portal: AUT Fulbright Scholarships application. The deadline for submission is 01 Nov, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, candidates must:

• Be citizens of the United States.
• Enroll full‑time at AUT.
• Meet the standard admission criteria for their chosen programme.
• Have paid or arranged payment for fees for an approved Research Master’s or Doctoral programme.
• Hold an Offer of Place (OOP) for study at AUT, with the programme commencing within six months of the application date.
• Demonstrate an excellent academic record, strong references, and research potential.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Specific GPA thresholds apply:

• Master’s Scholarship – Minimum GPA of 8.0 (A) across 120 points in the final year.
• Doctoral Scholarship – Minimum GPA of 8.0 (A) across 240 points in the most recent programme.

Scholarship Value

The awards vary by level of study:

• AUT Fulbright Doctoral Scholarship
  • Full coverage of domestic tuition fees.
  • Annual stipend of NZD 25,000 for the second and third years of the doctoral programme.
• AUT Fulbright Research Master’s Scholarship
  • Full coverage of domestic tuition fees for the 90‑ or 120‑point thesis component.
  • Stipend of NZD 15,000 per year for a 120‑point thesis, or NZD 11,250 per year for a 90‑point thesis.
  • Stipends are paid during the research component after PGR1 approval and thesis enrollment.
