Program Overview

The Mathilde-Planck Teaching Assignment Program offers women the opportunity to qualify for a professorship in Baden-Württemberg through teaching experience. The teaching assignments can be carried out at a public university of applied sciences, a university of arts and music, or the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW). Approximately 100 teaching assignments are granted per semester.

Eligibility and Target Group

The program is aimed at women with the qualifications for scientific or artistic work who hold a university degree and wish to gain teaching experience. Candidates must not have held a teaching assignment at the applying university in the last two semesters. A state-recognized university degree and special qualification for scientific or artistic work (usually a doctoral degree or artistic awards) are required, or at least two years of professional experience outside academia with a concrete doctoral project plan.

Scholarship Value and Duration

The scholarship provides partial funding and remuneration for teaching assignments, limited to a maximum of four semester hours per week and four semesters. The payment is based on the university’s internal rates. Travel expenses are not covered by the program but can be arranged separately with the respective university.

Application Process and Deadlines

Applications and administration are done online. For universities of applied sciences and universities of arts and music, applications for the summer semester are due by March 1st, and for the winter semester by September 15th. For the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, applications should be submitted before the start of the theory phases.
