Brian Fox Scholarship in Creative Writing at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship provides NZD 15,000 of partial funding for students pursuing a Masters in Creative Writing at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility

• Open to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
• Applicants must be eligible for the MA in Creative Writing and have submitted an application to the program.

Application Process

Submit a completed online application and any required supporting documents by 4:30 pm on 15 November 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection

Awards are based on creative potential, academic merit, and the quality of personal statements.

Award Details

The scholarship is paid in two equal instalments—trimester one and trimester two. Recipients must also submit a letter of thanks.

Additional Information

Established in 2017 by Brian Fox through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation, with additional funding from his estate in 2020, the scholarship honors his dedication to education. In future, if fulfilling its purpose becomes impracticable, the funds may be used in accordance with Brian Fox’s will.
