1916 Bursary Fund at Munster Technological University 2025

The 1916 Bursary Fund provides partial financial support of up to €5,000 per year for students enrolled in any full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at Munster Technological University. Funding is awarded based on demonstrated financial need and eligibility within specific priority groups, including socio-economically disadvantaged students, individuals with disabilities, members of the Irish Traveller and Roma communities, migrants, refugees, and other underrepresented populations.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must qualify for the special rate of maintenance grant under the SUSI Grant Scheme or receive a long-term means-tested social welfare payment.
• Eligible candidates include first-time new entrants to higher education or socio-economically disadvantaged mature students.
• Priority is given to those belonging to underrepresented groups such as disadvantaged students, students with disabilities, Irish Travellers, Roma community members, and migrants or refugees.

Bursary Value

• Tier 1: €5,000 per year for full-time undergraduate students for the normal program duration (up to six years for part-time students), also available for postgraduate study.
• Tier 2: €2,000 per year for full-time undergraduate students, extending to postgraduate levels with the same time limits.
• Tier 3: A one-off €1,500 bursary awarded for the 2023/24 academic year only.

Application Process

• Applications must be submitted through the regional clusters of higher education institutions.
• The deadline for submission is 10 October 2025.
• Award decisions are based on financial need and alignment with priority group criteria, with support available throughout the application process.
