DAAD, ALECOSTA Alemania-Costa Rica 2025 Scholarship Overview

The DAAD, ALECOSTA Alemania-Costa Rica 2025 award is intended for university instructors from Costa Rican institutions who wish to undertake Masters or PhD studies in Germany. This initiative is a joint effort between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Costa Rican National Council of Rectors (CONARE).

Eligibility Criteria

Requirements for the ALECOSTA Scholarship:

• Applicants must serve as university lecturers at one of the following Costa Rican higher education institutions: Universidad de Costa Rica, Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, Universidad Nacional, Universidad Estatal a Distancia, and Universidad Técnica Nacional.
• The funding supports enrollment in Masters and PhD level programs.

Scholarship Benefits

What the DAAD, ALECOSTA scholarship covers:

• Travel allowances, unless the home university provides them.
• Introductory language instruction in Germany, along with lodging and a stipend for a duration of up to six months.
• Full insurance package covering health services, nursing care, accident protection, and liability.
• Grants allocated for one year of research and academic work.
• Financial support for printing expenses for those pursuing doctoral degrees.
• Language course fees for spouses who accompany the recipient, when applicable.

Application Process
