The Gerda Henkel Foundation provides partial funding for doctoral candidates pursuing research in History-related fields. The scholarship offers a monthly stipend of €1,920, with an additional €480 per month allocated for travel and materials. A family grant is also available, providing €480 monthly for one child or €600 for more than one child.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to PhD students of all nationalities.
• Applicants must be under 28 years of age at the time of application.
• Subject areas must relate to Archaeology, Historical Sciences, Historical Islamic Studies, History of Art, History of Law, Prehistory and Early History, or History of Science.
• Highly qualified candidates with strong academic records are preferred.
• The scholarship is provided for a maximum duration of two years.

All applications must be submitted online via the official scholarship portal. Required documents include a completed application form, a CV limited to eight pages detailing work and schedule, a statement of expected travel and material costs, and certificates proving Master's degree completion and seminar attendance.
