The Graduate Scholarship at Birmingham City University is intended for candidates undertaking Master's or PhD programmes. This award supports a broad selection of subjects offered at the institution and welcomes applicants regardless of nationality.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, candidates must be Birmingham City University alumni and register for an eligible full-time or part-time Master's or PhD programme commencing for the first time in the 2024/25 or 2025/26 academic sessions. The opportunity is available to UK, EU, and international self-funded learners, including those in receipt of a postgraduate student loan.

• Must have completed a prior Birmingham City University undergraduate or postgraduate qualification.
• Not accessible to ERASMUS participants or those re-enrolling in a prior programme of study.

Application Process

Procedures for applying differ based on applicant status:

1. Current BCU Undergraduate learners should utilise the Fast Track route within the student portal.
2. Current BCU Master’s candidates progressing to PhD must navigate the PhD programme page and adhere to BCU's application guidance.
3. Returning BCU alumni may apply through the relevant course page, with automatic fee reductions for those who graduated subsequent to 2012; all other applicants are advised to contact admissions@bcu.ac.uk.
