The Graduate Student Instructor Award in Philosophy at the University of Waterloo is available for Master's and PhD students. The scholarship provides partial funding valued at a minimum of CAD 200 annually. Applicants must be enrolled in the Department of Philosophy at the Master’s or Doctoral level and have served as a Graduate Student Instructor during any of the three academic terms in the previous year.

Selection is based on teaching evaluation scores, student comments, and a strong record of competent and successful course administration. One award is granted each year. The deadline to apply is 10 August 2026. Eligible students are automatically considered and selected by the Faculty or Department based on their teaching performance; no separate application is required.
