Humboldt Research Fellowship 2025

The Humboldt Research Fellowship 2025 is offered for PhD and Research Fellow/ Scientist degrees across all research fields provided by German institutions. It is funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and provides partial funding of up to EUR 3,600 per month.

Eligibility Criteria

Postdoctoral Researchers: Must have completed a doctorate within the last 4 years, or be within 6 months of completion with a written summary of findings. Peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognised journals or publishing houses are required.

Experienced Researchers: Must have completed a doctorate within the last 12 years and have an extensive publication record reviewed to international standards.

General Requirements (For Both Categories): Applicants must be non-German nationals, have an academic host at a German research institution, comply with scientific ethics, and not have previously received direct Humboldt Foundation sponsorship.
