Overview

The Igniting Minds Foreign Fellowship 2026 is designed for Indian students seeking to study undergraduate or master's degrees at universities outside India. The scholarship provides partial funding through either a cash award of INR 3,00,000 or a 25% tuition fee discount, whichever is lower.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be Indian nationals born after January 1, 1990.
• Applicants must hold a valid Indian passport.
• Applicants must have qualified 12th or Bachelors from a recognised institution within India or abroad (for those pursuing Masters).
• Applicants must have achieved a minimum score of 55% to qualify.
• Applicants with a Master's degree from an overseas institution do not qualify.
• Applicants currently enrolled in or have commenced advanced studies at a foreign institution are ineligible.

Non-Eligible Programs

• MBBS/Medicine programs in China, the Philippines, Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine are not accepted.
• Programs from any Indian institution are not acceptable at any level (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD).
• PhD or PostDoc programs are not accepted.

Application Process

• All eligible candidates must complete and submit the online application to be considered for the fellowship.
• If selected, candidates must provide proof of admission to the university.
• Candidates may need to take an English language test if required by the university.

Value of the Fellowship

The successful candidates are awarded either INR 3,00,000 or a tuition fee discount of 25% (whichever is lower).

Fellowship Terms & Conditions

• The selected candidates must produce proof of how they plan to arrange the remaining funds.
• The candidate must notify the providers if in receipt of any other scholarships/ fellowships for the same course.
• During the course tenure, the candidates must not stay in India for more than 30 consecutive days.
• If the successful candidates do not commence their course within 6 months, the Fellowship Management Team reserves the right to allocate it to the next candidate on the waiting list.
