Infratec Scholarship for Māori, Pasifika and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering

This scholarship provides partial funding of up to NZD 18,000 for students pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a renewable energy focus at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Identify as Māori, Pasifika, or female.
• Be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
• Be school leavers or first‑year students.
• Enroll full‑time in the first year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program.
• Plan to take Renewable Energy Systems Engineering courses in their third and fourth years.
• Demonstrate academic merit, motivation, future potential, and commitment to renewable energy engineering.

Award Details

The scholarship is valued at NZD 18,000, disbursed as NZD 6,000 per year over three years.

Award Conditions

1. Continuation of funding and eligibility for a third‑year summer placement depend on maintaining a B+ average and selecting Renewable Energy Systems Engineering courses; exceptions may be made at the donor’s discretion.
2. Recipients must write a thank‑you letter to the donor and submit an end‑of‑year progress report each study year.
