The Jean Kennoway Howells Scholarship is tailored for candidates undertaking a Master's qualification in Music at the University of Edinburgh. This award lessens financial strain by providing a GBP 15,000 tuition fee reduction.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be new to the University of Edinburgh.
• Applicants are required to apply for a full-time postgraduate taught Master’s program within the Reid School of Music.
• Study must begin in the 2026–2027 academic session.
• Applicants must possess, or be on track to receive, a minimum of a UK First-Class or 2:1 Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification from abroad.
• The Master’s program application must be finalized by March 23, 2026.
• The scholarship application itself must be submitted by April 6, 2026.
• Holders of other ECA or University of Edinburgh scholarships are not eligible to apply concurrently.

Scholarship Benefits

The award provides tuition fee coverage of up to GBP 15,000 for a single academic year. Should any balance remain after tuition is covered, those funds may be applied to living costs.
