Jeff Allen Memorial Prize in Geology at University of Auckland 2026

The Jeff Allen Memorial Prize in Geology at the University of Auckland 2026 is a Masters and Diploma scholarship for students pursuing Earth Sciences. It provides Partial Funding of NZD 1,000 and is awarded to those who demonstrate high academic achievement and return to study after a notable hiatus.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled full‑time in a Postgraduate Diploma in Science (Geology focus) or a Master of Science in Earth Science.
• Be returning to academia after a significant period away.
• Achieve the highest overall marks in their program.
• Note that the prize may not be awarded if no candidate meets the required merit.
• In case of a tie, the Head of School decides if the prize can be shared.

Application Process

Submission is via nomination to the Scholarships Office; there is no direct student application. A recommendation from the Head of the School of Environment is required.

Value

The scholarship is valued at NZD 1,000 and is provided as partial funding.
