Jerald F. Lawless Graduate Scholarship in Biostatistics at University of Waterloo 2026

The Jerald F. Lawless Graduate Scholarship in Biostatistics at the University of Waterloo provides partial funding of CAD 2,000 to full-time doctoral students. This award is granted annually and is given in addition to existing funding sources.

Eligibility Criteria

• Be full-time doctoral students registered or planning to register in the Biostatistics program at University of Waterloo
• Be enrolled in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science within the Faculty of Mathematics
• Have a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent
• Demonstrate strong research potential.

Scholarship Value

The scholarship is valued at a minimum of $2,000 and is awarded annually in addition to existing funding.

Application Process

Students applying for admission are automatically considered through their admission application. Current students must submit a one-page research statement and a nomination form from their graduate supervisor or another supporting faculty member to the SAS graduate studies office.
