JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship 2026

Overview

The J. N. Tata Endowment provides merit-based loan scholarships to Indian nationals pursuing full-time Master's, PhD, or Postdoctoral studies abroad. The scholarship amount varies from INR 1 lakh to INR 10 lakhs depending on the selection criteria and scholarship norms. This financial support is granted following a specific selection procedure and is not available to all applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must be an Indian national.
• Applicants must be graduates of a recognized Indian University.
• Applicants must not be older than 45 years as of 30th June 2025.
• He/She must have an excellent academic record.
• Applicants in their final year of a degree course and those awaiting results are eligible to apply.
• Candidates must have an offer of admission from the University before submitting their completed applications.

Application Process

Interested candidates must first submit an online application. The application should include the following documents:

• Candidate’s photo (500 x 500 pixels in jpeg format).
• Aadhar card, Passport (first & last page).
• Marksheet / Transcript/s for each academic qualification.
• The Statement of Purpose (SoP). The narrative should not exceed 800 words.
• Working professionals need to upload 3 additional documents (if any):
  • Work Experience certificate from the previous employer.
  • Appointment letter from the existing employer.
  • The latest filed ITR / 3 months’ pay slips.

Value of the scholarship

This scholarship offers awards worth INR 1 lac to INR 10 lac based on the scholarship norms.
