KAAD Scholarship Programme 2 2026

Degree Level and Subject Areas

This scholarship supports Masters, Diplom, Magister, and PhD programs across all subjects offered by German universities. It provides partial funding, with the exact amount varying by individual candidate and program.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be citizens of developing or emerging countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America.
• Must be currently studying at a higher education institution in Germany with at least 10 months of study remaining.
• Intend to pursue a Master's degree, Diplom, Magister, or PhD at a German institution.
• Must be of the Catholic faith or another Christian denomination (particularly from the Near and Middle East), or be recommended by Catholic partners if from another religion.
• Possess German language skills at a communicative level, with at least B1 proficiency required for the educational program (A2 acceptable for English-language degrees).
• Demonstrate above-average academic or research potential.
• Commit to returning to and contributing to their home country or region after studies.
• Show religious and social commitment or willingness to engage in interreligious dialogue.

Application Process

1. Contact the Catholic University Chaplaincy (KHG or KSG) at your German university.
2. Submit the application through the KHG/KSG office.
