Kate Edger Foundation – Jane Bellamy and Elizabeth Godfrey Foundation Award

The award, created in 2016 by the Kate Edger Foundation, assists women who have finished the University of Auckland Tertiary Foundation Certificate and wish to enrol in full‑time undergraduate study at Waipapa Taumata Rau. Since 2023 it may also be granted part‑time when health or impairment reasons apply.

Eligibility

1. Open to women who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
2. Must have completed the University of Auckland Tertiary Foundation Certificate and be entering the first year of an undergraduate degree.
3. Students with health conditions may apply for part‑time study with supporting documentation.

Selection Criteria

1. Assessment is based on academic performance in the Foundation Course, demonstrated financial need, future aspirations, and any relevant circumstances described in the personal statement and reference.
2. Part‑time applicants must provide documentation explaining their reason for part‑time study.

Application Process

1. Submit the online application form via the University of Auckland scholarship portal by midnight on 17 February 2026, completing all sections.
2. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee, with results typically announced about eight weeks after the closing date.

Award: Up to NZD 6,000 per annum each.

Note: Waipapa Taumata Rau defines disability as any physical, psychological, cognitive, or sensory impairment that, together with social and systemic barriers, limits full participation in university life on an equal basis with others.
