Kate Sheppard Chambers Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship provides NZD 1,500 in partial funding for research related to women and the law. It is offered by Victoria University of Wellington and is intended for students pursuing studies in this area.

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an Honours or postgraduate programme in Law or the Humanities at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, with research focusing on women and the law. The scholarship is open only to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, with encouragement for those from diverse or minority backgrounds.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must be enrolled in an LLB (Hons) or postgraduate degree in Law or Humanities at the university, concentrating on a topic related to women and the law. Preference is given to those planning a career in litigation after graduation.

Award Details

The award amount is NZD 1,500. Recipients are required to write a thank‑you letter to the donor within one month of receiving the award and may be offered mentorship and support from a member of the Kate Sheppard Chambers.
