The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship is a prestigious two-semester program designed for experienced journalists seeking to deepen their expertise in business, economics, and finance. Hosted at Columbia Journalism School, the fellowship includes coursework at Columbia Business School and opportunities to engage with industry leaders through weekly dinners and lectures.

Eligibility Requirements

The fellowship is open to freelance journalists and full-time editorial staff from newspapers, periodicals, wire services, digital media, radio, and television news organizations. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent and have at least four years of professional experience in business, economics, or financial journalism. While Americans constitute the majority of fellows, the program actively seeks candidates who can contribute to improving business journalism globally.

Financial Support

Successful candidates receive full tuition coverage, health insurance, and a monthly stipend of $7,800. Subsidized Columbia housing is also available to fellows during the program.
