The Letje Lips Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (LLAMS) provides a partial funding award of €20,000 to outstanding non‑EU/EEA candidates pursuing a master’s degree in the Humanities at the University of Amsterdam.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold a non‑EU/EEA nationality and not be eligible for statutory tuition fees.
  • Be a first‑time degree‑seeking student at the University of Amsterdam.
  • Submit a complete application to the Graduate School of Humanities for a one‑year, non‑selective English‑taught Master’s programme (Research and Dual Master’s programmes are not eligible).
  • Meet all entry requirements for the chosen Master’s programme, including English language proficiency.
  • Not have received another scholarship in addition to LLAMS (any additional award must be reported to the Admissions Office).
  • Provide certified diploma and transcript documents by 1 August 2025 if conditionally selected.
  • Be able to comply with visa regulations.
  • Enroll full‑time at the University of Amsterdam by 31 August 2025.
  • Pay required fees such as housing and immigration fees before arrival (May/June).
  • Fund the remaining study and living costs, as LLAMS does not cover all expenses.

Value of the Scholarship

The scholarship offers a prize of €20,000, with seven (7) scholarships available for the 2025‑2026 academic year.

Application Process

Prospective candidates must:

  1. Submit a complete Master’s application via MyInfo by 15 January 2025, 23:59 GMT+1.
  2. After the Master’s application is submitted, fill out and submit the LLAMS scholarship application through the official LLAMS application portal, which is open from 3 December 2024 until the deadline.

Note: Both applications must be received by the deadline; incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.
