The Miller Family Scholarship provides partial funding of USD 2,000 to support students enrolled in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies programs at the University of Oregon. The award is available to both undergraduate students majoring or minoring in WGSS or Queer Studies, as well as graduate students completing a WGSS certificate.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a University of Oregon undergraduate student majoring or minoring in WGSS or Queer Studies.
- The applicant must be a University of graduate student completing a Graduate Certificate in WGSS.
- The applicant must be returning for at least one more year of study.
Application Process
Applicants must meet all standard University of Oregon admission requirements and submit the following materials:

- A 750–1,000-word essay responding to: How has majoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies influenced your intellectual development or how you act in the world?
- A writing sample up to 10 pages (e.g., a paper from a current class).
