Overview

The Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern provides State Graduate Funding and Caspar David Friedrich Scholarships for Masters and PhD degree programs in all subjects offered by universities. This scholarship is administered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and offers partial funding consisting of a monthly stipend plus family allowances.

Eligibility Criteria

Doctoral Scholarships

• Completed a degree qualifying for doctoral studies
• Far above-average academic or exam performance
• Admission to a doctoral program in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with academic supervision
• Project expected to contribute significantly to research or regional competitiveness

Caspar David Friedrich Scholarships

• Completed art or related degree
• Far above-average academic or exam performance
• Artistic project contributing to the development of artistic forms
• Project approved at the University of Greifswald (Caspar David Friedrich Institute), Rostock University of Music & Theatre, or Wismar University of Applied Sciences with supervision

Value and Benefits

• Monthly stipend: €1,500
• Family allowance: First child €150/month; each additional child €100/month
