Nyerere Scholarship at University of Edinburgh 2026
The Nyerere Scholarship is tailored for Tanzanian nationals who are either currently enrolled at or have recently completed their studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. This opportunity funds postgraduate study toward a Masters degree in Africa and International Development at the University of Edinburgh.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must hold Tanzanian citizenship and be resident in Tanzania.
- Should be a recent graduate or current student of the University of Dar es Salaam.
- Must have secured admission to the full-time MSc Africa and International Development programme for the 2026/27 academic session.
- Must show outstanding academic performance, equivalent to a UK first-class or 2.1 Honours degree.
- Must not be receiving any other scholarship funding at the same time.
Scholarship Benefits
This award provides comprehensive financial support, covering:
- Full tuition fees for the MSc programme.
- An annual stipend set at the UKRI rate, distributed in monthly payments.
