The Nyerere Scholarship is designed for Tanzanian citizens who are either current students or recent graduates of the University of Dar es Salaam. It supports studies towards a Masters degree in Africa and International Development at the University of Edinburgh.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen domiciled in Tanzania.
- Should be a recent graduate or current student of the University of Dar es Salaam.
- Accepted into the full-time MSc Africa and International Development programme for the 2026/27 academic year.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, equivalent to a UK first-class or 2.1 Honours degree.
- Cannot hold any other scholarship funding concurrently.
Scholarship Benefits
This scholarship provides full funding, which includes:
