Old A's Summer Scholar Prize at University of Auckland 2026

The Old A's Summer Scholar Prize at the University of Auckland is designed to recognize and reward excellence among Summer Research Scholars in the Faculty of Education and Social Work who aspire to a career in teaching. This prestigious award provides partial funding support to successful candidates.

Scholarship Value and Funding

One prize is awarded annually, valued at NZD $1,000. The funding is provided as partial support to assist with research or study-related expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the SUMRESCH 301 Summer Research Scholarship within the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Candidates should have completed a research project of the highest quality between November and March of the current year.

• Must be enrolled in SUMRESCH 301 Summer Research Scholarship
• Research project must be deemed highest quality by Selection Committee
• Project must have been completed between November and March each year

Selection Criteria

The selection committee evaluates applicants based on research excellence, research contribution, written communication skills, and personal and professional development as documented in the final report and supervisor's report.

Application Process

To be considered for the award, applicants must submit the following documentation:

• A copy of the student’s final report
• A statement from the project supervisor
