Placement Travel Bursary at La Trobe University 2026

Overview

The Placement Travel Bursary at La Trobe University 2026 is offered for undergraduate degree students in all subjects. The scholarship provides travel and accommodation support to assist with placement costs. The value ranges from AUD 680 for 10–15 day placements to AUD 1,365 for placements of 21 or more days. An additional AUD 300 is available for eligible La Trobe Rural Health School domestic students undertaking placements in MMM 3–7 regions.

Eligibility criteria

• Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or entry-level professional practice course at La Trobe University.
• Be undertaking a university-sourced placement that is 120 km or more (one way) from their semester/term address.
• Undertake a placement of 10 days or more.
• Have the placement recorded in InPlace at the time of application.
• Not have received any other University-provided placement funding in 2026.

Application process

• Complete the online bursary application.
• Applications close according to placement start date:
  • 3 May 2026 (placements starting 1 Jan–30 Apr)
  • 30 August 2026 (placements starting 1 May–31 Aug)
  • 22 November 2026 (placements starting 1 Sep–31 Dec)

Value of Placement Travel Bursary

Travel and accommodation support of:

• $680 for placements of 10–15 days
• $910 for placements of 16–20 days
• $1,365 for placements of 21+ days
• Additional $300 for eligible La Trobe Rural Health School domestic students undertaking placements in MMM 3–7 regions.
