Rae Hammer Memorial Prize in New Zealand History at University of Auckland 2026

The Rae Hammer Memorial Prize in New Zealand History is a scholarship for undergraduate study in the field of History of Aotearoa New Zealand. It is awarded annually to a student who has met the requirements to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and who majors or specializes in New Zealand history.

Eligibility

• Must be completing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at the University of Auckland.
• Must be majoring or specializing in History with a focus on Aotearoa New Zealand.
• Must have the highest GPA in relevant history courses or research.
• Must demonstrate strong commitment through relevant coursework and active class participation.
• Selection is by nomination to the Scholarships Office and final approval by the University of Auckland Council.

Value

• NZD 750 per year.
• One award is granted each year.

• There is no direct application.
• Students are nominated to the Scholarships Office for consideration.
