Rebekah Wilson Scholarship for Sonic Arts at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship, established in 2017 by composer and sonic artist Rebekah Wilson, supports female students of the New Zealand School of Music who are studying or wish to pursue sonic arts. It provides partial funding of NZD 1,000 toward an undergraduate degree in Music.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to female nationals enrolled or intending to enrol in the New Zealand School of Music with a major in Sonic Arts. Applicants must demonstrate prior attainment, potential, and, where relevant, financial need.

Selection Criteria

Candidates must be female and meet the academic and artistic standards set by the school. The selection panel evaluates applications based on merit and alignment with the scholarship’s purpose.

Application Process

Submit a completed online application by 01 Oct 2025 before 4:30 pm. Include all required supporting documents such as references. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Benefits

The scholarship offers Partial Funding, NZD 1,000 and may be held alongside other awards.

Obligations of Recipients

The successful applicant will be invited to meet the donor informally during the year and must write a thank‑you letter to the donor upon receipt of the award. Recipients are expected to demonstrate engagement with the New Zealand School of Music community through participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances.

Additional Information

The scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year and may be combined with other awards.
