This PhD project develops novel magneto‑thermal core‑shell catalysts to efficiently convert CO₂ into valuable chemicals such as methane and methanol, while lowering energy use. The successful candidate will synthesize and characterise these catalysts, test them in a benchtop continuous‑flow reactor, and work with teams at Victoria University of Wellington, the University of Auckland, GNS Science, and the MacDiarmid Institute.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold an MSc/MEng or a 1st Class Honours (4‑year) degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Prior laboratory experience in materials synthesis or gas‑phase catalysis is advantageous, and candidates must satisfy Victoria University of Wellington’s PhD admission requirements.
