Roger Robinson Scholarship for Student Runners at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship provides partial funding of NZD 5,000 to support New Zealand citizen or permanent‑resident student‑runners who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, enrolled or intending to enrol full‑time in an undergraduate program at Victoria University of Wellington. Part‑time study may be considered with prior approval from the Head of School, School of Health.
2. Applicants must be competitive runners in events administered by Athletics New Zealand, typically in the 800 m or longer distances, and the scholarship is generally awarded only once to the same athlete.

Selection Criteria

1. Selection is primarily based on the applicant’s competitive athletic record.
2. Academic performance and personal circumstances, including financial or other hardships, may also be taken into account.

Application Process

A completed online application must be submitted by the closing date of 01 November 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Award Details

The scholarship is valued at NZD 5,000 and provides partial funding. More than one scholarship may be awarded annually if additional funds are available, and previous recipients may re‑apply for up to three years.
