Sir Roy McKenzie Music Therapy Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship provides partial funding of up to NZD 5,000 for students enrolled in a Master of Music Therapy or a PhD in Music Therapy at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed at least the first year of the Master of Music Therapy and plan to enrol in the second year, transition from a Master’s to PhD in Music Therapy or a related field, or have a close professional association with the Master of Music Therapy course.

Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are assessed based on their commitment to further qualifications in Music Therapy at the New Zealand School of Music.

Application Process

A completed online application must be submitted by the closing date of 15 November 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Award Details

The scholarship is valued at up to NZD 5,000 and will be paid in two equal instalments in April and August.

Recipients must submit an end‑of‑year progress report to the donor and provide a letter of thanks.

Recipients are expected to engage with the New Zealand School of Music community, including participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances at university events.
