STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship 2026-27

The STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship 2026-27 is a partial funding opportunity for PhD students enrolled at American universities. The fellowship enables recipients to conduct research in France for a period of 4 to 9 months.

Financial Support

Fellows receive a monthly allowance of up to EUR 1,850, a round-trip ticket to France, and health insurance coverage.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be currently working toward a PhD.
• Must be registered at an American university; US citizenship is not required.
• French citizens are not eligible to apply.
• All STEM and Health-related research topics are eligible.
• Research must be performed in a French laboratory, university, or public research institution.
• Both US thesis advisor and French host advisor must agree to co-supervise.
• Knowledge of French is not mandatory and depends on the host institution.
