Overview

The Swafford Family Scholarship was established in 2002 by Dr Glenn Swafford to support high‑achieving students majoring in Education at Victoria University of Wellington. It provides partial funding of NZD 5,000 and is awarded based on academic merit, with special consideration for applicants experiencing financial hardship.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to any undergraduate or postgraduate student currently enrolled in an Education course at Te Herenga Waka‑Victoria University of Wellington.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship is awarded based on the following priorities:

1. Applicants must be full‑time Education majors at Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Academic merit is the primary factor, with preference given to those facing financial hardship when multiple top candidates apply.

Application Process

A completed online application must be submitted by the closing date of 31 March 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Award Details

Successful recipients receive NZD 5,000 in partial funding. Recipients are required to write a letter of thanks to the donor of the scholarship.
