Te Manawa O Te‑Ika‑A‑Maui Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

This scholarship is designed for a Ngāti Tūwharetoa undergraduate student enrolled in Environmental Management or Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. It aligns with the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board’s Mahere Rautaki 2021–2026, especially the Pou Taiao pillar that focuses on protecting water and the natural environment. The award is co‑funded by Victoria University to advance these objectives.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must be enrolled full‑time in an undergraduate programme in Environmental Management or Environmental Science at Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Applicants must be registered with the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board.

Selection Criteria

1. Enrollment in a full‑time undergraduate Environmental Management or Environmental Science programme at Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Registration with the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board.

Application Process

A completed online application must be submitted by the closing date of 30 April 2025. Applications that are late or incomplete will not be considered.

Award Details

The scholarship provides NZD 2,500, which can be used for tuition fees and/or accommodation. Payments are made in two instalments: the first after Trimester 1 results are released and the second after Trimester 2 results.
