The Global Excellence Scholarship at The University of Western Australia 2025

This scholarship provides tuition fee coverage of up to AUD 48,000 for international students commencing selected undergraduate or postgraduate courses at UWA. The award is granted based on academic merit, with eligibility tied to an ATAR of at least 85 or a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65. Students enrolled in specific pathways such as Medicine, Dental Medicine, or certain professional doctorates are excluded.

Eligibility Requirements

General Eligibility

• The applicant must have received an offer from UWA for a degree program.
• Minimum academic thresholds:
• ATAR ≥ 85.00, or
• WAM ≥ 65.00.
• For those on International Academic Pathway programs, a WAM > 75.00 is required.

Undergraduate Eligibility

• Eligible for Assured Pathway courses or approved bachelor’s degrees, except the Assured Pathway to Medicine and Assured Pathway to Dental Medicine.

Postgraduate Eligibility

• Eligible for approved postgraduate coursework degrees, excluding the Juris Doctor, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine, Doctor of Optometry, and UWA Micro‑credentials.

Application Process

Eligible candidates who meet the ATAR or WAM criteria are automatically considered for the scholarship; no separate application is required beyond submitting the standard UWA admission application. The scholarship covers tuition fees for the standard term of study, with the award amount determined by the applicant’s academic performance.
