The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2026 provides full funding for master's degrees in development-related fields at 24 institutions across the United States, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan. The scholarship covers tuition fees, economy class air travel, a USD 600 travel allowance, and a monthly subsistence allowance for living expenses.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be nationals of selected developing countries.
• Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree obtained at least three years before the application deadline.
• Applicants must have a minimum of three years of professional experience in development-related work.
• Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any developed nation.
• Applicants must be in good health and employed in development work at the time of applying.
• Applicants must receive an unconditional offer of admission to one of the eligible master's programs.
• Applicants cannot be World Bank Group staff, Executive Directors, or their close relatives.
• Applicants who previously declined or failed to complete the scholarship are ineligible.

Application Process

All eligible candidates must submit an online application. Required components include:

• Documentation of recent development work experience.
• Bachelor's degree diploma and any advanced graduate degree diplomas.
• Curriculum Vitae formatted according to Annex 4 in English.
• Unconditional letter of admission to an eligible program.
