The Naughton Scholarship at University College Cork 2025

This award provides partial funding of up to €20,000 (€5,000 per year) for students enrolled in a full‑time undergraduate program in science, technology, engineering or mathematics at University College Cork. The scholarship is granted to 36 Irish residents each year, with at least one recipient from every county.

Eligibility and Application

Applicants must be Irish secondary‑school students who have attended a recognised school for at least two years before sitting the Leaving Certificate and who are taking examinations in at least two of the specified STEM subjects. They must also intend to begin a three‑year or longer STEM‑related degree at a publicly funded Irish university, including those in Northern Ireland, the year after their Leaving Certificate.

Scholarship Value

The scholarship is valued at either €20,000 for a four‑year degree (€5,000 annually) or €15,000 for a three‑year degree, providing financial support toward tuition fees.

Each year 36 students receive the Naughton Scholarship, and their respective schools are awarded a prize to enhance science laboratory facilities. This initiative recognises outstanding academic performance and encourages continued excellence in STEM fields among Irish youth.
