These scholarships support research in tropical public health at James Cook University (JCU) for both Masters and PhD candidates. The opportunity is open to international students focusing on population health, laboratory, or clinical investigations with a strong emphasis on Mackay and central Queensland.

Scholarship Details

• Eligibility: Open to all nationalities, with preference given to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants. Candidates must be pursuing an MPhil or PhD at JCU with a supervisor in the Discipline of Public Health and a research project aligned with tropical health priorities.
• Application Deadline: 28 February 2026
• Scholarship Value: Full funding including a $33,500 annual stipend and $5,000 for project expenses, payable for up to 3.5 years (PhD) or 2 years (MPhil). Funds are disbursed fortnightly.
