Tongarewa International Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

The Tongarewa International Scholarship provides partial funding of up to NZD 10,000 for international students enrolled in bachelor's or master's programmes at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility

• Open to all international students except New Zealand nationals.
• Applicants must be starting their first year of undergraduate or graduate study.
• Candidates must have paid full tuition and not completed secondary education in New Zealand.
• Students from the university’s overseas partner institutions are ineligible.
• Those in their second year of the same degree programme are not eligible.

Application Process

All eligible candidates must apply online and submit one of the following:

• A personal statement of up to 500 words explaining why they wish to study at Te Herenga Waka.
• Full transcripts and supporting documentation.
• An offer of place from Victoria University of Wellington (conditional or unconditional).

Value of the Scholarship

Successful applicants receive a scholarship amount of either $2,500, $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000.
