University of Waikato Summer Research Scholarship 2026

The University of Waikato Summer Research Scholarship 2026 is open to undergraduate and master's degree candidates of all nationalities. The scholarship provides partial funding valued at NZD 8,000, which includes enrollment in a paper. Applicants must submit their application by the deadline of 13 July 2026.

Eligibility

• Scholarships are open to candidates enrolled at an Australian or New Zealand university.
• Applicants concurrently enrolled in taught papers and a thesis (593 or 594) may apply, provided they have not yet commenced their master’s thesis.
• Preference may be given to applicants who have discussed the project with the supervisor before applying.

Selection Criteria

• The student's academic merit is assessed, and their Grade Point Average will be calculated on the candidate's most recent 240 points of study.
• Applicants are evaluated on their level of expertise in one of the research project areas.

Documents Required

• Verified copies of the applicant's academic transcripts.
• Two academic references.
• A copy of the candidate's curriculum vitae of not more than four pages.
• A one-page summary of the applicant's experience, interest in the research areas, and relevant background.

Value: NZD 8,000 plus enrollment in a paper.
