Overview

The Unnathi Scholarship for Overseas Studies is a government initiative by the Government of Kerala designed to support meritorious students from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. The scholarship enables eligible candidates to pursue Master's or PhD degrees in any subject at international universities.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be residents of Kerala and belong to the SC or ST community of Kerala.
• Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (or equivalent) in their qualifying examination.
• Applicants must be below 35 years of age at the time of application.
• Applicants must not be government employees or employees of any public sector undertaking.
• Applications must be submitted before admission to the foreign institution; applications after securing admission are not eligible.
• The scholarship is awarded for only one program or course of study abroad.

Scholarship Value and Income Slabs

The scholarship provides full funding with amounts determined by family income:

• Family income up to ₹12,00,000: Up to ₹25,00,000 (₹25 lakh) total for the full course.
• Family income ₹12,00,001 to ₹20,00,000: Up to ₹20,00,000 (₹20 lakh) total.
• Family income above ₹20,00,000: Up to ₹15,00,000 (₹15 lakh) total.

The funding covers tuition fees, accommodation, visa costs, health insurance, and air travel.
