UQ PhD Industry Placement Award 2026

This scholarship provides partial funding of up to AUD 9,375 for PhD students at the University of Queensland.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland.
• Either receive no living stipend or a stipend managed by an external sponsor.
• Complete an approved HDR Industry Placement of at least 60 working days.
• Submit a project brief within the first 18 months (FTE) that includes a project outline, placement duration, host organisation approval, and supervisor endorsement.
• Finish the placement at least one month before the stipend expires and provide required reports and confirmation.

Value of the Award

The award is valued at $9,375 AUD (2026 rate, indexed annually).

Application Process

To apply, follow these steps:

1. Enrol as a PhD candidate at UQ.
2. Apply for and complete an approved HDR Industry Placement (minimum 60 working days).
3. Submit the required project brief within the first 18 months (FTE) with all necessary approvals.
4. Complete the placement and submit the required completion reports.
