The Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarship (VCPS) at RMIT University for 2026 offers partial funding of AUD 48,299 per annum stipend plus support and other allowances to candidates pursuing a PhD degree. The scholarship is open to all nationalities and the application deadline is 30 September 2026 for international students and 30 October 2026 for domestic students.
Scholarship Value
- Stipend of AUD 48,299 per annum pro rata (full-time study)
- Research support allowance of AUD 5,000 per annum
- International candidates receive an RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship
- Local candidates are provided with an RTP Fee Offset scholarship
- Relocation allowance up to AUD 1,540
- Paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave
- Cost coverage for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international candidates
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold or complete a Master by Research, a Master by Coursework with a significant research component, first-class Honours, or equivalent qualifications.
- Exception may be granted for candidates with previous publications or significant research experience.
- The candidate must be an Australian, New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident of Australia, or international candidate commencing an RMIT PhD program from January 1, 2027.
- Candidate must have applied for a full-time PhD program at RMIT.
