The Waikato Management School Emerging Leaders Entrance Scholarship 2025

This scholarship provides partial funding of up to NZD 10,000 toward tuition fees for eligible MBA candidates.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be an emerging leader within their sector.
• Be a new applicant to the MBA program and have been accepted.
• Not have previously received a WMS University of Waikato scholarship or award for the MBA.
• Not be eligible for the University of Waikato’s staff fees concession scheme for the MBA.
• Be a New Zealand citizen, NZ permanent resident, NZ resident class visa holder, or an Australian citizen/permanent resident domiciled in New Zealand.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are assessed on:

• Leadership contribution to business and the community.
• Potential for future leadership.
• Relevant management experience.
• The impact the MBA will have on their business and/or regional economy.

Application Process

Students must submit an application form and a personal statement to the university.

Value

Up to two scholarships of up to $10,000 each are offered annually, paid toward tuition in the year of tenure.
