What is the PTE Exam Cost?

The recently revised PTE test fees in India in 2026 is ₹18,900. This fee comprises a base payment of ₹15,254 and an 18% tax.

Payment of the PTE fee can be completed during the exam registration process, allowing candidates to do so until just two days before the test date.

PTE Express – New Option for USA-Bound Students

PTE Express is a shorter and more affordable English proficiency test accepted by 100+ universities in the USA. The exam fee is approximately USD $70 (around ₹6,615), and results are usually available within 24 hours. Before booking, students should check whether their target university accepts PTE Express instead of the full PTE Academic exam.

PTE Registration Fee

It’s important for test takers to understand that PTE exam booking fees, PTE test fees, and PTE fees all pertain to the regular PTE Academic exam fee or PTE registration fee of Rs 18,900.

Candidates can pay the PTE fee online through the official Pearson PTE website using credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Amex), UPI apps like Google Pay and PhonePe, Net Banking, or authorised PTE voucher codes.

PTE Exam Cancellation Fees Policy?

For candidates who opt to withdraw from their PTE Academic test after making an online exam booking, the following refund rules apply:

1. Full Refund: Candidates are eligible for a full refund if they cancel their test up to 14 calendar days before the scheduled test date.
2. Partial Refund: If candidates cancel their test with less than 14 calendar days but at least eight calendar days before the test date, they will receive a 50% refund of the PTE test fee paid.
3. No Refund: No refunds will be provided to candidates who cancel their exam less than seven calendar days before the scheduled test date.
4. No-Show Policy: If you miss your PTE exam without cancelling beforehand, you will lose the full exam fee. No refund or credit is provided. For medical emergencies, contact Pearson support directly.

PTE Rescheduling Policy Updates

Effective from August 22, 2023, Pearson has introduced new guidelines for the rescheduling process:

- 1. Rescheduling with 14 Days or More Before the Test Date: If your PTE exam is scheduled more than 14 days in advance, you can reschedule it free of cost. A single exam booking can be rescheduled up to 6 times, as long as each change is made at least 14 days before the test date.
  2. Rescheduling with Less than 14 Days Before the Test Date: If your PTE test is less than 14 days away, rescheduling is not allowed. To change your exam date, you’ll need to cancel your current booking (as per the refund policy) and book a new test by paying the full ₹18,900 fee again.

Please be aware that the cancellation and reschedule policy does not cover changes to your PTE test date.

PTE Score Review Fees

If you are dissatisfied with your PTE exam scores, you can request a review of your test results.

A fee is applicable for the PTE rescore service. Nevertheless, should your overall PTE scores show improvement due to the review, the review fees will be reimbursed to you.

To commence the PTE exam score review process, you must make your request within 14 days of receiving your official test results. The fee for this service is USD 160 (equivalent to approximately 15,000 INR).

Is the PTE exam fee the same worldwide?

No. PTE exam fees vary by country. In India, the PTE Academic, PTE Core, and PTE Academic UKVI exam fee is ₹18,900 (inclusive of GST). In comparison, the fee is around AUD $490 in Australia, GBP £230 in the UK, and USD $265 in the USA. Pearson sets exam fees separately for each country and may revise them periodically.

Are there any additional fees for late registration?

No. As per the latest Pearson PTE update, there is currently no late booking fee for PTE exams in India. Candidates can often book their exam up to 24-48 hours before the test date, depending on slot availability.

Can I get a refund if I need to cancel my PTE exam?

Yes. If you cancel your PTE exam at least 14 days before the test date, you can receive a full refund. Cancellations made 8-13 days before the exam are eligible for a 50% refund. No refund is provided if you cancel less than 7 days before the test.

Is there a fee for rescheduling the PTE exam date?

If your exam is more than 14 days away, you can reschedule it free of cost. However, if your test date is less than 14 days away, rescheduling is not allowed. You’ll need to cancel your current booking and pay the full ₹18,900 fee again to book a new test date.

Are there any additional charges for score review or re-evaluation of the exam?

Yes. Pearson charges a fee for score review requests on PTE exams. However, if your score changes after the review, the re-evaluation fee is refunded back to your original payment method.
