What Are the SAT Eligibility Criteria?

The SAT eligibility criteria refer to the requirements and qualifications that students need to meet to take the SAT exam. Educational Prerequisites for SAT 2024

The SAT eligibility, administered by the College Board, does not prescribe specific educational or academic prerequisites. Any high school student aspiring to gain admission to institutions in the United States or Canada is eligible to participate in this globally recognized test.

The SAT primarily evaluates a candidate's critical knowledge, aptitude, skills, and college and career readiness. However, it is advisable for SAT test-takers to possess a reasonable proficiency in the English language, given that the test is conducted in English.

SAT age limit Requirements

The SAT exam is open to a wide age range and does not impose specific age limitations. Typically, the most common SAT test-takers fall within the age bracket of 17 to 19 years. However, it's important to note that the College Board has established eligibility criteria for students below 13 or those studying below the eighth grade

Importantly, the SAT does not define a minimum or maximum age limit for test-takers.
